What are some of the things you can do to detoxify?

Updated: Nov 1, 2021

To begin a healthy lifestyle journey, you must prepare the body. In doing so a simple detox is a start and it is not as difficult as one may thing it is. I love to detox because it helps me get rid of toxins that are not good for my body. In today’s toxic environment and with the recent upsurge with the coronavirus, we all need more research and tools to help us detoxify.

A complete and comprehensive detoxification strategy is a good start.

To begin, this should include identifying and removing of infections, increasing blood and lymphatic circulation, boosting the body’s own detoxification pathways, improving digestive health and functions, and addressing the toxic effect of stress. Your body will observe the changes as soon as you decide this is the way to go.

• Toxins cause weight gain and prevent you from losing weight

• Toxins slows down your metabolic rate, lower your thyroid hormones, increase inflammations, it also slows down fat and calorie burning, and damage your appetite control system.

• You can successfully eliminate toxins from your body with diet, exercise, supplements and working up a sweat.

A well-designed detoxification plan can help to reset the body and kickstart your health. One of the key components of Detox program is including a plethora of foods that help boost the body’s natural detoxification processes.

Here are some foods that will help guide you on the way to health cooking and eating:

• Cruciferous vegetables daily – at least 1 cup daily – includes broccoli, kale, collards, brussels sprouts, and cauliflower

• Garlic cloves – 2 to 3 every day (or take a garlic supplement)

• Fresh vegetables juices – includes celery, cilantro, parsley, and ginger

• Prepared herbal detoxification teas containing a mixture of burdock root, dandelion root, ginger root, licorice root, sarsaparilla root, cardamom seed, cinnamon bark, and other herbs

• High-quality, sulfur-containing proteins includes eggs, whey protein, garlic, and onions

• Bioflavonoids which are found in grapes, berries, and citrus fruits

• Dandelion greens to help liver detoxification, improve the flow of bile and increase urine flow.

• Celery to increase the urine flow and aid in detoxification.

• Cilantro which may help remove heavy metals

• Rosemary, which contains carnosol, a potent booster of detoxification enzymes

• Curcuminoids (turmeric and curry) for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action

• Burdock root to aid in detoxification

• Chlorophyll found in dark-green leafy vegetables and in wheat grass

• Pycnogenol (found in grape seeds) in supplement form for support of detoxification and circulation
