Herbs & Spices – Quick Tips

We use sauces, herbs and spices to enhance the flavors of our food but not to disguise them that you are not sure what you are eating. Always go light on the seasoning and add as you go along. Ever try removing too much salt from a pot of veggies or a piece of meat ready to go on the grill.

One of the main reasons, Rugerks™ Spice Blends are low sodium or zero salt added. Please add salt as you cook. We recommend tasting before cooking and while cooking as it could make a big difference in how much spice is added to your meal.

There is so much information on the world wide web about herbs and spices you would never get to reading them all. We have put together the most important and everyday usage of herbs and spices that you may find interesting.

Quick Tip

When dried herbs are used with uncooked foods it will taste almost fresh if you mix it with an equal amount of freshly chopped parsley and let the spices sit for a little (just a few minutes). The added parsley will enhance the flavor of the spices and what hurt could some fresh parsley do to your dish?

So next time you check your pantry and there are spices you bought some time ago, don’t throw them out, crush them and you know the rest.
